Eight graduates from the UP College of Medicine made it to the Top Ten of the August 2011 Physician (Complete, Finals and Finals with Prelims) Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medicine this August 2011. UPCM also posted a 100% passing rate (144/144).

The eight who made it to the Top Ten are: Mark Augustine Saquido Onglao (1st Place – 88.42); Eugene Guerrero Odoño I (3rd Place – 87.92); John Lyle Tron Montero Gomez (4th Place – 87.75); Deonne Thaddeus Vite Gauiran (5th Place – 87.67); Marie Shella Baduel De Robles (8th Place – 87.42); Juan Carlos Reyes Abon, Jan Miguel Clutario Deogracias, and Erickson Fernando Torio (9th Place – 87.33).

It can be noted that UP College of Medicine, under the leadership of Dean Alberto B. Roxas,  is the only medical school that has been given the highest accreditation by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU).

On its website, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that, of the 2,131 board takers, only 1,605 made it.
